Unbottled

The short version: Unbottled stores everything locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal data, conversation notes, or usage information. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics.

Information We Do Not Collect

Unbottled does not collect any personal information. Specifically, the app does not:

Transmit data over the internet
Require or support user accounts or login
Use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services
Include any third-party SDKs or tracking frameworks
Access your contacts, photos, location, or other device data
Use advertising identifiers
Communicate with any external server for any purpose

We cannot see your data because it never leaves your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

Unbottled stores the following data locally on your iPhone. This data is never transmitted off your device.

Biometric Authentication

Unbottled can optionally use Face ID or Touch ID to lock access to the app. Biometric data is processed entirely by the iOS operating system. Unbottled never receives, stores, or has access to your biometric information. The app only receives a pass/fail result from the system.

Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled locally using the iOS notification system. No data is sent to Apple's push notification servers or any other remote service. Notification content can be configured to hide topic details for additional privacy.

Clipboard

When you copy a shareable draft to the clipboard, the copied text is marked as device-local only (it will not sync to other devices via Universal Clipboard) and automatically expires after 2 minutes.

Sharing

If you choose to share a draft through the system share sheet (Messages, Mail, or another app), the text leaves Unbottled and enters the app you selected. At that point, privacy is governed by that app's own policies. Unbottled shows a one-time privacy notice before your first share to make this clear.

Data Deletion

You are in full control of your data:

Delete individual items from their detail screens at any time.
Delete all data from Settings, which permanently removes all topics, people, and Keychain-stored preferences.
Delete the app to remove all data from your device. Since nothing is stored remotely, deletion is complete and irreversible.

There is no backup or recovery option because your data is never copied off your device.

Children's Privacy

Unbottled does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data is collected at all, no special provisions are necessary.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Since Unbottled collects no data today, any future changes would be reflected in a new version of the app.
